There’s some good stuff there, but I suspect you got better over time right ?
So they have the rights over the images and you aren’t allowed to post anything ? Sad…

  2. pixiniarts says:

I have a DA but the stuff on it is really damn old, I’ve been unable to get anything up on it since about 2010, Just type Pixini into Google I’m the top result.
Work has been a little more than restrictive about me putting game art up, which is a pain as it has flat lined my web presence, near 3 years with nothing to show its bad juju I tell ye…

Any chance we could take a look at what you do ?

I’m making artwork both for in game and marketing/print media with a tight deadline so my paintings have to work up close, occasionally for posters and window displays so people have to kind of see its a painting and original artwork at that size any photo ripping is going to be noticed and traceable to source; the company I work for wouldn’t be happy bunnies getting sued.

  9. ivanlagrossemoule says:

Well thank you for your answer.
So basically you mostly avoid references. Interesting.
At least I avoid the copyright problems since I only do painting for the fun of it.

  10. pixiniarts says:

You can draw a face out of memory with anatomical commonalities like the length of an eye matches the distance across the bridge of the nose and the length of the eye from the corner also matches the length of the nose… So if you start a face from the eye you know where everything should be… and enhance it using elements from reference.
If I’m working on painting a face in work I have to make it up, not use a photo, copyright and all that!

  11. ivanlagrossemoule says:

Just being curious, do you actually use models when working, or just get everything out of memory ?
I mean, lets say you have to draw a face in details, would you just do the face without looking at any reference or would you at least get some lines from somewhere ?

you would probably need a qualification in art and design and some sort of idea about how to use computers.

You guys are living my dream! One day I want to work as a concept artist, too!
Your skills are amazing. I really enjoyed the designs of Bioshock 2 and Deadspace 2, they were so inspiring. Keep on the incredible work. 🙂
I need to practice more to get to this level.
