Classic Game Room reviews TOKYO XTREME RACER 2 for Dreamcast

This is the LAST original Classic Game Room review recorded from season 1 in 2000. This swan song from the original CGR team is a review of the tremendous TOKYO XTREME RACER 2 for the Sega Dreamcast, the sequel to Tokyo Extreme Racer 1. Modifiy your cars and race them on the highway against competing gangs! Excellent gameplay, addictive features and mesmerizing action made this game one of the more unique racers on the Dreamcast. It was an improvement from Tokyo Xtreme Racing 1 with more cars, a bigger highway system and more customizable options. The footage shows the amount of fun we had and mayhem that we caused while tearing around the freeways in Los Angeles in our Nissan Skyline and Acura NSX (even though the cars weren’t really called that in the game)). Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 is a must have for fans of the Sega Dreamcast looking for a fun and exciting driving game that doesn’t quite fit the mold of games like Ferrari F355 Challenge or Test Drive Le Mans. If you like import tuners and modifying your car with huge mufflers, wings and body moldings… and then going out on gang war crusades against lame ass games in Tokyo (or LA, whatever) then this game is for you! Classic Game Room brings you the best in video game reviews from all kings of game systems and arcade classics, past and present!

Classic Game Room – DREAMCAST COLLECTION for Xbox 360 review

Classic Game Room reviews the DREAMCAST COLLECTION for Xbox 360 from Sega, a collection of four classic Sega Dreamcast games that includes Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2. This bare bones collection delivers some great games at an affordable price, but serious Dreamcast fans probably already own at least one of these games. Space Channel 5 Part 2 is probably the only one that doesn’t live in your collection. Those interested in getting into Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure or Space Channel 5 should consider this Dreamcast Collection from Sega. Others may want to buy a Dreamcast and collect the real games. This CGR review of the Sega Dreamcast Collection has gameplay from the Dreamcast Collection on Xbox 360 showing Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 gameplay in HD action.

Classic Game Room – Classic Game Room – MORTAL KOMBAT GOLD for Dreamcast review

Classic Game Room reviews MORTAL KOMBAT GOLD for Sega Dreamcast from Eurocom and Midway from 1999., based on Mortal Kombat 4 from 1997 in the arcades. This 3D Mortal Kombat entry in the series may appeal to those who really dig Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe but perhaps not those who like the original Mortal Kombat games in 2D. Moves are faster and jumping more responive and effective in this version. Awesome fatalities are easy to pull off with cheat codes for Mortal Kombat Gold on Sega Dreamcast entered at the beginning of the game. Controls work well and MK On DC plays a bit like Virtual Fighter mixed with Mortal Kombat. This CGR review of Mortal Kombat Gold (aka Mortal Kombat 4) has gameplay from Mortal Kombat Gold on Sega Dreamcast showing MK Gold game play and Mortal Kombat fatality moves gameplay in HD.

Classic Game Room – JAPANESE SEGA DREAMCAST: YUKAWA BOX EDITION review

Classic Game Room reviews the JAPANESE SEGA DREAMCAST YUKAWA ORANGE BOX EDITION model # HKT-3000. This Sega Dreamcast is nearly identical to the standard model North American Sega Dreamcast with an orange swirl. It outputs NTSC video (which works on US tvs) and uses all of the same cables and accessories as standard North American Dreamcasts. Sega Dreamcast games were region encoded and this Dreamcast will play Japanese exclusive titles like Capcom vs. SNK 2 and the Macross videogame. CGR hardware review reviews Sega Dreamcast Yukawa Box edition which can be found easily online for a reasonable price if you find good shipping. Numerous Japanese only exclusive games await your Japanese Sega Dreamcast.

Classic Game Room reviews ARMADA for Sega Dreamcast

Recorded in 1999, Classic Game Room reviews ARMADA for the Sega Dreamcast video game console. This super old school review from the Classic Game Room features a rather obscure but still incredibly fun game called ARMADA. It is a top down space ship shooter game combined with an RPG style storyline and plot. This was an early release for the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast, released in 1999. Classic Game Room is the first video game review show on the Internet that reviewed classic games. This review is one of their “brand new” game reviews… brand new back in the 20th century that is. Aired in December, 1999 on the original Inecom Internet TV channel. So check it out, retro old school goodness in the form of a retro old school Classic Game Room back from when the boys were in their 20’s! Developed and published by Metro3D, Inc., designed by Mark Jordan and Roger Fang. ARMADA takes place in a not so distant future time and space. It’s a cool science fiction action RPG game with unique elements and great gameplay. Graphically this doesn’t stand out today, but back then it was really nice using the full power of the Sega Dreamcast. GAME ROOM SUCKA!

Dreamcast compilation on its way for Xbox 360 and PS3

Dreamcast compilation on its way for Xbox 360 and PS3
Sega’s Alan Pritchard told Game Informer that the Dreamcast collection is on its way for Xbox 360 and PS3. Back in November, GameStop listed and then unlisted the compilation for Xbox 360 (see the screenshot), and until now we haven’t heard a word about it. But Space Channel 5 fans can (potentially) rejoice, as it’s officially in the works.

‘Dreamcast Collection’ for Xbox 360 and PS3 listed on GameStop

‘Dreamcast Collection’ for Xbox 360 and PS3 listed on GameStop
Coinciding with the PSN release of the Dreamcast’s Crazy Taxi , a mysterious listing for a PS3/Xbox 360 “Dreamcast Collection” has been spotted on GameStop . The listing does not offer any details about the unannounced title, except a (likely placeholder) release date of February 15 and a price point of $29.99. We can speculate just a bit based on that price. Since the two existing PSN/XBLA …

PS3 gets early SNES and Dreamcast emulation

PS3 gets early SNES and Dreamcast emulation
Brings a tear to your eye, doesn’t it? Sure, jailbreaks and homebrew titles are all well and good, but you know a console has really arrived when it starts emulating the classics. The ever-versatile Snes9x has been given a quick and dirty port to the newly jailbroken PS3 , and while it’s missing fancy features like “save states” and “UI,” it’s certainly looks to be doing the most basic task of …

Classic Game Room reviews SEAMAN for Dreamcast

Classic Game Room season 1 – 10/16/2000 One of the all time great Game Room episodes as Mark and Dave torture Seaman without mercy. SeaMan for the Sega Dreamcast was supposed to be a life simulator where you grow a Sea Man from an egg… the boys at the Game Room treat it like a science experiment from hell. Watch as Seaman is boiled, starved, deprived of oxygen, verbally berated and taunted. Will he survive his close encounter with the Game Room? Classic Game Room reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation… too bad they didn’t get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii.
